Spent !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I got to tour the factory and drive a Ghost Series II and a Wraith.

Both are amazing cars. I've driven several Mercedes S-Classes, a Jaguar XJ, Maserati GranTurismo, a handful of Range Rovers and a Bentley Continental but none came close to the experience of driving a Roller.

Here's a bunch of photos.

What's the GPS-linked transmission like? Is it effective?

In the usual Rolls Royce way it works so well you don't notice it at all

Just watched your video on YouTube. Excellent review! You should do a full tour with it, a 15-minute video or more. I'd watch that!

Also it just hit me. BMW's current iDrive, like the one in this Wraith features that writing thing. Which is a good idea until you remember some people are left handed and some countries are left-hand drive. How awkward is it to use it with your non-dominant hand?

These wheels are not attractive, they look like they came out of a cheap mail-order catalogue. Not at all to my liking.

...none came close to the experience of driving a Roller.

Is this because the Rolls are really that much better, that much smoother/quieter/refined/solid/etc? Or is it because you know you're driving a Rolls, which is a special privilege in and of itself?

Also, are you leaning casually against a Rolls Royce in that one picture? "Oh, no big deal, this is me, Mr Bigshot Roller rubbing his butt up against a Rolls." I'm jealous.

Both really. A few other cars are 99% as smooth, quiet, refined but none have the final touch of elegance and luxury a Rolls does. Also, the brand and all the weight the name carries is, as you say, something of a privilege. Haha, As we walked towards the cars I gave my phone to a friend to take a pic and vice versa - casual = speedy

Hi. Thank you. The writing thing was incorporated for people in eastern countries for whom inputting satnav and other directions is a pain in their language - e.g. South Korea. Is it a PITA to use if it's your non-dominant hand? Yes, but it's usually the chauffeur who does it so who cares (or so the thinking goes)

Hahaha. Good thinking on the chauffeur. But still... This is BMW's system after all, and most BMW owners don't have a chauffeur. Even the Wraith. I believe a coupé like this wasn't made to be chauffeured around.

But eh... BMW isn't new to making an iDrive that's horrible to use. And even when it's horrible it's better than most of its competition.

Makes sense for Eastern Countries. Haven't thought about it.

Yes, though Kahn with the silver mist wheels would look better. But that's just me talking.
